SE ANALIZA EL VIAJE DE ESTE SINGULAR PERSONAJE A TRAVÉS DE LOS TRES PAÍSES: SUS CAÍDAS, SU LUCHA Y, TAMBIÉN, SUS TRIUNFOS. No me entusiasman las biografías, en general. Esta no me ha entusiasmado nada. El objeto del libro es un tipo de esos dispuestos a subir muy alto procediendo de bastante abajo. En este caso, después de hacer todas las gamberradas posibles, monta un partido entre fascista y neocomunista en la caótica Rusia de principios de siglo y escribe algunos libros contando su vida. En paralelo, el autor nos cuenta también parte de su propia vida, en cierto modo comparándola con la del biografiado pero insistiendo en que él, el autor, nunca se ha salido de madre y es un perfecto "bobo" (es decir, "bourgeois bohemian", que trasladado a España es algo así como "progre de salón": tipos que se dicen de izquierda pero viven con todo el sibaritismo posible). No me han gustado ni uno ni otro. Después de tragarme todas estas páginas, ni la vida de Limónov ni las poses de Carrère me parecen nada del otro jueves. Tampoco hay ninguna hazaña estilística (el relato es meramente cronológico) ni, en realidad, nada que justifique el aluvión de premios que, al parecer, recibió esta obra en Francia, salvo que los demás libros publicados eran aún peores. En fin, fue un regalo.
