They were very creative and captivating, the colors and design drawing the eye into the picture. So much to see! I just saw this play last summer, so the story was fresh in my mind, and the graphic novel stayed true to the story from what I remember. I would definitely recommend this graphic novel to reluctant Shakespeare readers. Personally, I think Shakespeare should be performed, not read... but if you can't see a performance, this is the next best thing! ( ) I loved the illustrations. Shakespeare's best-loved play, A Midsummer Night's Dream endures as an obvious choice for outdoor theatre on a warm summer evening. The marriage of Theseus to Hippolyta serves as a backdrop to tangled loves, amateur dramatics, and an argument between the Fairy Queen and King, Titania and Oberon, with events spilling over from their Fairy Kingdom into the real world of the forest. As with all our Shakespeare titles the period is faithful to the Bard's intentions, and there is a choice of three text versions. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
