Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. HTML:The fourth book in the sexy, "hilariously fun," (RT Book Reviews) romantic comedy series about a children's librarian turned vampireâ??perfect for fans of Katie Macalister and MaryJanice Davidson.
Just as Jane Jameson's unlife seems to be stabilizing, fate sinks its fangs firmly into her butt. Despite her near-phobia of wedding planning, her no-frills night time nuptials to her sexy boyfriend, Gabriel, are coming along smoothly. That is, until she turns a fatally wounded teenage acquaintance, and the Council pronounces her responsible for the newborn vamp until he can control his thirst.

Jane's kitchen barely holds enough Faux Type O to satiate the cute teen's appetite and maintain Gabriel's jealous streak at a slow simmer. As if keeping her hyperactive child from sucking the blood out of the entire neighborhood isn't enough to deal with, the persnickety ghost of Jane's newly deceased grandma Ruthie has declared war on the fanged residents of River Oaks. Suddenly choosing monogrammed cocktail napkins and a cake she can't even eat seem downright relaxing in comparison.

Tensions inside the house are growing...and outside, a sinister force is aiming a stake straight for the center of Gabriel's heart. Most brides just have to worry about choosing the right dress, but Jane fears that at this rate, she'll never make it down the aisle for the wedding all nice girls dream

Jane and Gabriel are finally getting married, yay! But of course given that this is Jane, there would be complications. Jamie, a high school delivery boy, is coming by the bookshop, when he’s struck by a car and about to die, so Jane changes him to one of the undead. Unfortunately, Jamie develops a huge and inappropriate crush on Jane, which is compounded by the fact that as his sire, she has to keep him at her house. Drama!

Add in a ghost grandma who wants your house back and a mysterious person trying to kill your fiancé, lots of Ophelia (one of my personal series favorites) and what isn’t to like? A delightful conclusion to this paranormal comedy series.

Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader. ( )

I am sorry to see the end of Jane Jameson's story but I have the Half Moon Hollow to look forward to in which she is a peripheral character. ( )

Being the fourth book in the Jane Jameson series. I knew sort of what to expect. Lots of snarky attitude from Jane and heaps of trouble. This is exactly what you get in this 4th installment.

Jane finally agrees to marry Gabriel. Which means, her mother tries to run the wedding plans. In the mean time someone runs over a 17 year old delivery driver at Jane's store leaving her no other option but to turn him. Now Jane is a sire for a teenage boy. Nothing could be worse than a teenage vampire, right? It seems like it until someone tries to kill Gabriel.

This is a light read and fun. The author is very good at making the story fresh with little twists in the plot. Anyone who enjoys paranormal stories is sure to like this one. ( )

A cute, satisfying ending to the series. The stories never held deep wells of storyline, it was more of a 'hey, this happened, so let's show life afterwards' kind of thing. 'Nice Girls don't bite their neighbors' has some changes in the main character's life with things getting wrapped up, but besides the intro of a newbie, that's basically it.

This is the second book that's focused on a wedding - instead of her best bud and his werewolf love, it's Jane and Gabriel themselves. Enter mother woes, dress shopping, best friend girlish get-togethers, and a few dangers in between. Enjoyable to read about Jane and the crew, but no strong tension.

I'm still not gung-ho on the idea of her siring someone so soon, but it worked out better than I thought. The teenage boy is hilarious with his awkward moments, interrupting Jane's time with Gabriel, and spinning out a quirky ending of his own. (I'm not spoiling anything by saying this since this is on the back of the book cover as the plot-line.)

There's not much to wrap up since Gabriel and Jane were already together by book one, wedding or no. That doesn't steam me either way. To end the series with a few sparks, there is a death of a character that no one liked anyway, and a sad moment when others say goodbye. Teariest scene of the series for sure.

Even if the story isn't fascinating, it's a light read and these books are enjoyable. Laughs are earned, a few watery eyes here and there, and mild distractions from the mandane for those of us who aren't lucky enough to live paranormal lives.
