This story is all rather confusing to be honest!
It is basically an adaptation of a German folk tale 'Twelve Dancing Princesses' (but with only one princess).
It also includes elements from the Middle Eastern folk tale 'Aladdin' (except the magic lamp is now a magic medal carried around Mickey Mouse's neck).
The first one third of the book is concerned with Aladdin (Mickey) having been lost in a sand storm on his way to visit his old friend the Sultan of the Desert Kingdom. He is rescued; but once back at the palace is met with a mystery; the Sultans daughter is exhausted and unhappy.
Aladdin decides to investigate and quickly finds out the princesses secret. Each night she escapes through a secret passage out of the palace where she is met by a prince who whisks her away to his palace where they both dance the night away together. With the aid of a genie, Aladdin controls through a magic medal, he is transported to the prince's palace where he is able to obtain one of the princesses dancing slippers which she looses while rushing back to her own palace in a hurry. Aladdin uses this evidence to confront the tearful princess with, back in her room. Once the secret is exposed to the Sultan he immediately asked that the prince be brought to the palace where the couple are joined in matrimony.
Aladdin eventually travels back to his own palace with a story to tell princess Minnie. ( )
