As the continuation of The Secret of Cypriere Bayou, we learn that another person is causing trouble at the laMalediction house (!!), and we finally find out where the emeralds are hidden (!!!). This book is very spoilerific to its predecessor, so don't read this book yet if you plan to read the other book. This review might be a tad spoilerific too~ Justine Chatry is hired to look into the history around laMalediction and to find the hidden emeralds, while Brian Marcentel is hired to be her bodyguard because someone is running around the house and doing stuff to scare them away. I like the parts about secret tunnels, hidden passageways, and the whole mystery surrounding laMalediction and its past. I don't feel much chemistry between Justine and Brian though. It annoys me when Justine keep secrets from Brian because I find her reasoning very weak. I also think Justine's connection with Deedee is a little too much on top of her possible link to Franklin Borque! This book can probably be read on its own, but it does make unclear references to the last book. It's been a few months since I read the last book so I didn't remember that Olivia has strange dreams, how being a writer got her to laMalediction and how she met John. I'm sure these things would confuse readers unfamiliar with the last book, too. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: One remote bayou mansion was holding tight to its secrets Bodyguard Brian Marcentel knew Justine Chatry had a job to do, but so did he. He'd been hired to keep her safe--from whatever lurked behind the walls of a long-neglected mansion. And yet, the beautiful researcher insisted on helping him investigate every suspicious noise and following him through the murky bayou as he tracked down trespassers. All of that paled in comparison, though, to his greatest challenge: trying to resist her when the fear took over and she looked to him for protection. Still, no matter how fiery their attraction, there was something about this frustrating, sexy woman that seemed so familiar. But trying to penetrate her secrets was like trying to keep her out of his arms. Or out of his bed. .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Once again Jana DeLeon brings romance, mystery and voodoo together for a great read.
