My 10 year old really enjoyed this book and Red Jericho, the first book in this series. He is, however, disappointed it is taking so long for the 3rd book in this trilogy to be issued.

Doug and Becca MacKenzie are back and are moving further into the world of The Guild of Specialists. The research ship, Expedient, already damaged in the off Wenzi Island, is hit by a typhoon. The captain, their uncle, Fitzroy MacKenzie, is forced to beach his ship in a secluded bay on a small island. They discover they are not alone. The two teens and the rest of the Expedient’s crew once again fighting their nemesis, Pembleton-Crozier, with yet more of his evil army, this time consisting of Kalaxx warriors.
On this island the siblings find skeletal remains and unearth a riddle linked to a 1533 painting. This riddle may hold the key to the Guild’s secrets and help them locate their parents.
Time is short, however, as the group tries to repair the ship and working out a way to thwart the Kalaxx and their cohorts before they themselves are found out. The secret, and the power that comes from knowing it, must not fall into the wrong hands. Pembleton-Crozier, and those with him, would use it for corrupt purposes. The Guild members are outnumbered and outgunned ( )
