I kind of hate this era's style of film-making, and every frame of this movie is overflowing with it. Hanks makes it watchable, though. Great comic timing from Tom Hanks, who looks very young in this 1988 film, including a now iconic keyboard scene with Robert Loggia. And in the end, a difficult decision to be made.
Some implied intimacies and the subject matter make this unlikely to be of interest to anyone younger than about twelve, but the rating is PG.
