A nice little collection of Golden Age and pre-Golden Age science fiction. There are several classics like "Shambleau" by C.L. Moore and "The Little Black Bag" by Cyril Kornbluth. Some of the stories share the flaws common to the genre in the period, but the only real clunker is "Monsters of Moyen" by Arthur J. Burks. Burks was one of the famous "million words a year" men in the pulp era, but this story really doesn't hold up at all. Still the collection is great at the price. ( )
