Samantha's on a Roll begins with a young girl who wants to try her new roller skates. Her mother tells her to wait as she wants to help her but is busy at the moment. Samantha does not listen to her mom and tries them on anyways. Without her busy mom noticing, she skates down the halls and then outside up Hawthorn Hill. She gets herself into trouble when she accidentally rolls down the steep hill. She ends up skating through kids playing, a wedding, a marching band, and ends up in a tree. She makes it home just in time to remove her skates and grab a book. Her mother is done with her chores and asks Samantha if she is ready to try out her skates. Samantha is falling asleep and tells her mom that she will try them on another day. This book is a modern fantasy. This book was cute but also I could see why it might be worrysome to have a child of yours read it. The little girl goes against her mothers words to wait until she's done doing things and she'd help her skate. The little girl takes it upon herself to get her own skates on and skate around the house (without her mother noticing). After a while she thinks "why not" and leaves the house to skate outside, which is when trouble happens. From ruining a wedding to flying high above the town because she picked up a kite, Samantha returns home safely and when her mother finally offers to help her skate (not knowing Samantha already had), Samantha refuses and relaxes with the dog. Had a cute rhyming scheme to it, frankly any children's book that has a rhyming scheme to it is always fun. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
