I like this book because it was written in a different way from what books are usually written as and it showed different postcards from the boys’ journey from sleepaway camp. It was a very interactive and one interesting book that kept me engaged and wondering what was going to be the next post card. I give this book 4 starts because it is a book is that suitable for grades first through fourth and can be used to teach persuasive different steps in writing and progress through the writing process and it also talks about family and the time at camp. I like the way this book is written, it showed a different way to write a book. Each page is a different postcard from Michael about his journey through sleep away camp.
This is a good book for any student because you can have them write their own postcard or do several activities. The postcard activity can be that each student write a postcard about the grade they are in and then you can make a class book about their year in your classroom. ( )

This cute picture book is about a boy Michael who is new to the Sleepway camp and is experiencing difficulties. Michael thinks his counselor is an alien, his bunk mates are pranksters, and it is constantly raining causing him to send his father a series of postcards asking to be rescued. I enjoyed this book because it is very interactive with real envelopes and removable letters. This book is suitable for grades first through fourth and can be used to teach persuasive writing, hyperbole's, and different text features. ( )
