Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Fantasy Romance, M/M] Take him from Heaven's Seat. Bring him to me. We will protect his sacred head. Stryver Zorti's mission appears simple. Kidnap the Godchild and deliver him to his master. But with the first meeting of the holy man's azure gaze, desire surges in him to strip bare the God and touch the man within. Worshiped all his life, the Godchild is shocked by the stranger who dares lay hands on him, even if it is to save him from assassins. With a different name given by his new ally, Blue is freed from the constraints of the holy order for the first time. He revels in the extraordinary experiences opening to him, then in the passion that sparks between him and the hard-edged, oddly gentle Stryver. But a god does not love, and if discovered, their precarious utopia will shatter, destroying any chance for a future together--that is, if the assassins don't kill them first. ** A Siren Erotic Romance… (más)

Please read my updated comments at the end of the review...

Blue Heaven is a story about God Children in human form, mercenaries, power, and finding out who you are; enough to control your own destiny.

Once again I judged a book by its cover. This is not one of the best covers I’ve seen and so I thought the writing would also not be that great. But a gem of a story hides within.

The author created a unique and exciting world. It’s filled with Gods that are incarnated into human form and are worshipped by the people. There are monks that raise/teach the God Children, but in the end have forgotten the true role they are meant to play. Mercenaries are hired to assassinate or kidnap whomever their masters order them to. And finally rulers, taking matters into their own hands for their own desires. Blue Heaven was an enthralling read that I didn’t want to put down.

Blue Heaven begins with the kidnapping of a God Child from Heaven’s Seat by the mercenary Stryver. Once Stryver kidnaps ‘Blue’ as Stryver names him, so begins their journey to where Stryver’s master awaits them. The story isn’t so much about the physical journey, but about a journey of self-discovery and the development of the relationship between Blue and Stryver and where that journey will take them. I love stories with character growth and developing relationships and this story was perfect.

The author inserted a saying at the beginning of each chapter that gave a hint of what was to come in the chapter. It also reminded me a lot of the I Ching and the sayings that go with each line of the hexagrams. The chapter lines were very simple, but poetic. I really enjoyed this addition to the chapters.

EDIT: In the first version of my posted review I made mention of the problems with the formatting of dialogue in PDF for my NOOK. The author kindly sent me the epub version and I've checked over the story in various spots and haven't noticed the dialogue technical issues I had observed with the PDF files. That said, I promised I'd give this story five stars if the author corrected the issue. Since she's done that I happily give this book five stars, one of the very few books I have given a high rating to :)

I had intended to read a chapter and go to bed. This book doesn't care about your intentions. It gripped me from the first page and held me captive until the end. I couldn't put it down. I loved the chemistry between Blue and Stryver. It was everything-- sweet and hot, romantic and sensual, fun and sarcastic.

The universe lived and breathed. I was able to almost watch this like a movie, it was so vivid. Her word choices are gorgeous, and the way she describes things from emotions to glances to scenery gave it a reality that made me weep in places and laugh in others, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I've never seen Gods portrayed in fiction quite like this, and Jadette's portrayal of the Godchildren is original enough to make it unique and stick with me, but the way she wrote them made it familiar enough to be a comfort read I can see myself devouring again and again. And as it only took me around four and a half hours to read, it will be one of those books I'll go to when I want instant gratification under time constraints when I need my hot fantasy fix. Such a beautiful, delicious, and fast paced story. Blue Heaven captured my heart, and I'm not sure it will let it go anytime soon. ( )
