This is a series I highly recommend for kindergarten through third graders (and even above). Jerry Pallotta is another author who has visited our school twice. He is one of the most engaging, down to earth speakers you could imagine. His presentations are interactive and humorous, while at the same time informational. The kiddos are learning about writing, editing and revising, comparing and contrasting, research, perseverance AND informational facts about animals without even realizing it! His books contain colorful photographs or drawings in a compare/contrast format, with LOTS of information about each animal. The students love to make their own predictions and then check at the end to see if they were right! Of course, each encounter could have a different outcome! We have approximately 60 copies of this multi-book series and yet it still doesn't seem to be enough! I HIGHLY recommend this series for any elementary school library. ( ) This book starts out by introducing dinosaurs and then compares the two different types of dinosaurs. It talks about the attributes of the T-Rex and Velociraptor, with little word bubbles the book gives definitions of subject specific words and gives fun facts about the different dinosaurs. At the end of the book there is a scenario that has the two animals fight each other using the facts we have just learned about and a winner is determined, but afterwards it asks the reader what they think would happen next time. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
