The poems chosen for this book all capture how great and wonderful it is to just be taken away by a book. You can tell all the writers really appreciate a good book. I think this would be good just to show people of all ages how important a good book is and what it can do for people. I like that most of the pictures show that the book has moved in someway because for me books just take me away from whatever is going on. ( ) This book is a fanciful collection of poems selected that revolve around the story of this book. The poets that contributed these poems are Jill Corcoran, Rebecca Kai Dotllch, Kristine O'Connell George (which I just completed a review on one of her books.), Avis Harvey, Lee Bennet Hopkins, Michele Kruger, Karla Kuskin, Bevely McLoughland, Naomi Shihab Nye, TOme Robert Shields, Amy Ludwig VanDerwater, Karen B. Winnicknand Jane Yolen. This book would be able to teach children about different styles of writing poetry by showing the different "voices" of the poets with this book. Not only would it teach about rhyme, meter, blank verse and different kinds of verse writing, but could also be a class project to have a book made of short verse contributed by all the students. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

A book is a wonderful, magical treat. The thirteen poems in this collection encourage young readers to snuggle up with a story and stretch their imaginations, to splash in a sea of tales by day and swashbuckle through chapters late at night. Playful illustrations by Yayo compliment thought-provoking poems by Jane Yolen, Rebecca Kai Dotlich, Naomi Shihab Nye, and others. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
