Baby bear needed a lot of things for him to be able to sleep, and like moms do, Mamma bear did everything she could to help her baby sleep. Mothers always try to help their children stay as calm and comforted as always. In this book mama bear has to show baby bear how they need to survive during the winter. She shows baby bear the cave they will be sleeping in for the winter but baby bear is not impressed. Baby bear tires everything to keep mama bear awake. 1st he tells mama he can't sleep with out a snack so mama bear searches for the only apple left on the apple tree for her baby to eat. Then baby bear says he can't sleep cause he is thirsty so mama bear finds him some water. Finally baby bear knows what he need to be able to go to sleep, the moon. Mama bear realizes she can't get the moon. Suddenly a snow ball comes rolling down the hill she places it in the cave so the moonlight shines on it for baby bear. Finally baby bear realize he just need a kiss from his mama and goes to bed. Audience: pre K -3rd grades This is a wonderful book where the mother bear tries to fulfill all the wishes of baby bear before he can sleep. When he wants the moon she cleverly gives him a large snow ball!
