This is the first cozy mystery that I have read in a very long time. It was really good. I liked the characters and the cute little town. Morty is too perfect. I don't read about psychics but this was really cool. I can't wait to see what Sunny and Mitch do in the next book. ( )

I overestimated the quality of this book. Having recently finished [b:Tea with the Black Dragon|435415|Tea with the Black Dragon (Black Dragon, #1)|R.A. MacAvoy|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1347649483s/435415.jpg|1261690] I was expecting something similarly well written, with the same amount of mystery. Boy, was this novel predictable. I had the whole thing pegged out by 1/3 of the way through. It was not worth the time (as little as it may have been) it took me to read it.

I loved the cat element. The main character could have been much stronger. By that I mean both as a character element in the novel as well as in the way an independent female should be these days. I will not be reading any sequels, though for what it was it did what it should have. ( )

This was the perfect busy weekend read - it was engaging and fun, easy to put down and pick up again. I finished it in a day. ( )

I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining and fun debut book by Ms. Townsend. Sunny and Mitch kept me laughing and Morty was completely adorable! Looking forward to the next book in this fun series. ( )
