This was such a disappointment. I don't really like love triangles, but if done right can still enjoy the book. One good thing for this story is that both men were fairly good guys, but neither were particularly great. Furthermore, the romance was entirely unbelievable. I don't think Miriam loved either guy as anything more than a friend. This leaves me very unsatisfied with the ending. What makes me saddest is that I can see potential for such a better story here, one that I could really love. ( )

Miriam has two men who love her and have asked her to marry them. One man, John is the local vet, and is Mennonite. Good old Charley is Amish, and Miriam has known him her whole life. Now Miriam has to choose between the two and, much to the concern of some in the community, she is "stepping out" with both me. After a long struggle to decide which man she really loves and should marry, suddenly, the choice is obvious. ( )

Miriam is a young Amish woman with a choice - court and marry Charley who she grew up with and everyone excepts her to marry, or court and marry John, a Mennonite vet who she's attracted to. The plot has been done, but what I liked in this case was that until Miriam announced her decision, I had no idea who she was going to pick. It wasn't obvious at all. ( )
