Humorous story of Spring time.

This book was a little hard for me to even follow because it is portraying a lion, whose name is March, in a winter setting. This could be confusing for children because March is a month in Winter and the lion is walking around like a human. I now understand maybe a deeper meaning that the author was trying to portray about a lion bringing in the last month of Winter and then the sheep taking over Spring but I feel that it is too difficult of a hidden meaning for children. The main idea of this book was that the lion (March) lead winter but then the sheep lead the Spring in the end. ( )

The illustrations in this book are wonderful. They show the mess spring makes and the beauty of summer. The lion represents the spring and the lamb is summer. This is a good book to read aloud to introduce children to the changing of the seasons.

I like children's books about weather and seasons, and this one was pretty cute. I liked the illustrations too, especially the ones that covered two pages (left and right). ( )
