This is a book with several short stories, such as "Mr. Rabbit and Mr. Bear", or "Why Dogs Hate Cats". The short stories are only several pages long, and they are filled with simple words, so a younger chid (grade 2), could read it. But, the book has a lot of dialog, and it doesn't use proper grammar. I know this is part of the story line, but I don't think I want my young students reading a book with improper english. Also, the stories are about playing tricks, or not liking one another, so I don't think this book has much to teach students. I will not be using this book in my class, because I don't see literary or metaphorical benefits to this book.
