The book feels real, the characters feel genuine, the situations feel authentic. Author Jay Bell presents a sometimes gut-wrenching story of love between two men made more difficult by one character’s inability to accept himself. There is a subtle change in the tone of the book when it gets to section 2 that I felt foreshadowed how the rest of the book would go. Perhaps the author intended this hint of what was to come, but I doubt it. Nevertheless, I thought the overall novel was an enjoyable read, much better than many of a similar type of novel.
