Push and Pull is a pattern book that will help students learn the difference between push and pull. This book does a great job simplifying to readers that not all objects are able to move in a certain direction. The book also has photos for anyone who reads it can understand how to use a certain object. For example, The book says, “Shoppers push carts”. Simply and has an picture to help the reader understand it more. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. ( ) Push and Pull is a pattern book that is great to help develop language learners. The author includes many concepts of contrasting meaning of what is considered push and pull. For example, a hammer pushes down while a child will pull a wagon. I would rate this book a 5/5 because it helps students comprehend the meanings of push and pull. This pattern book was extremely helpful for the student I read it to. I was able to physically stand up and show him the difference between pushing a chair in and pulling a chair to you. It was very helpful for comprehension reasons. The student was able to recognize the pattern easily and know what the pictures are portraying. This book is also really helpful for students learning English. The students are able to look through the book and recognize the pattern which can can help them understand the whole book. I gave this book a 4/5. It's a very simple pattern book that a teacher could use with an ELL student. This is a very great book for students who needs their teacher to act out words and phrases for them. I do like that the book has illustrations and repetitive phrases that the students can easily follow along with.There is a picture of kids pulling on a rope and pushing a lawn mower. You could ask them, "what is something that you pull or maybe pulls you?" once you are done reading the book in order to determine what they have learned. I gave this book a 4/5. I gave it this rating because I really like how the pictures match exactly what the words are saying. "A pull moves something toward you." There is a picture there of kids pulling on a rope. I like how simple the sentences are because you can easily try and relate them to your students. you might ask them " have you ever done this activity before?" or "what is something that you pull or maybe pulls you?"
