This is my first encounter with William Trevor, but it is not going to be my last. The three stories in this collection are all about people who need to deal with choices others have made for them. A 19-year old car mechanic involved in a fatal acceident, a farmer's son returning home when his father dies and a village beauty turned down by the man she loved, all have in common that they live with the choices they never made, in fact they choose to accept their destinies. The stories are beatifully written, all with a nostalgic taint to them, all being set in villages from another time (or is it now? Who knows?) Trevor makes me feel for these people without feeling sorry for them. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
