This sweet story is a beautiful Christian romance. Melanie Drake, a widow with 2 young sons, has finally moved forward to the point where she is ready to plan her financial future. Because her babysitter cancelled at the last minute, she brings the boys to her bank appointment with Nathan Keller.

Nathan, who was jilted by his former girlfriend because he has Crohn’s Disease, is attracted to Melanie and likes her boys. However, he is afraid that he will be rejected because of his illness. Nathan also is a coach for the youth baseball league and suggests that Melanie sign up her boys for the upcoming season.

Of course, this is a romance, so the reader knows that there will be a happily-ever-after ending. But there are bumps along the road. Even with the support of friends and members of Nathan’s family, both are afraid to allow friendship to bloom into a relationship. What does it take for them to become a true couple?

I loved the people of Kellersburg, Ohio and they way they support one another. I disliked Melanie’s former in-laws until they learned to accept Melanie for who she is now and not hate her for her difficult past. The young sons are a lot of fun and they play an integral role in the developing romance.

This is book three in the Kellersburg book series, but easily holds up as a standalone novel. It is the first one I’ve read, but I already own the other two and look forward to also reading them. ( )
