This was a clean read which is a cross between romance and suspense. The author does a great job with painting visuals and some of the sarcasm I found highly amusing. Ethan's kindness towards Audrey and the way he jumps in to help with Maggie was adorable. Rafe was a likable guy and his sense of duty was honorable, but I felt the relationship with Julia moved too fast. Granted, it was the frontier days, so I was able to suspend belief without it ruining the story. Julie and her fossils did get on my nerves though. I would've rated it higher, but I couldn't get past her reckless behavior.

The suspense in this book kept me on my toes. It's a worthwhile read, but I'm on the fence about continuing the series. (

I generally don't have a thing for cowboys, but this book was hard to put down. Mary Connealy created some wonderful characters in this novel. The men first come across as strong and a bit tough, but as you read on, you sense their own concerns for themselves and for the ones they love. Their actions show the lengths to which they will go for the women in their lives. It's definitely a book worth reading. (

Not very impressed with this love story and how it unfolded. I thought that Rafe was too bossy and Julia was too wayward. In a way, I guess they fit though. I did enjoy Seth and will be anxious to read more into his story. (
