Had to falsify Near East history in order to avoid having the Jew as a hero or even as a just, innocent sufferer. Just shows how little Japan has to offer the World when even one of its more celebrated popular artists cannot rise above the common falsehoods of the current end of civilisation malady. Too bad, as the previous four volumes were excellent, apart from a passant endorsement of anti Roosevelt isolationist conspiracy theory. ( ) This graphic novel explores the lives of three different Adolfs: a Jew, an SS agent, who is half German, half Japanese, and a leader one of history's worst atrocities: Adolf Hitler. This story takes place in Japan in the 1940's and shows some of the affects of WWII on Japan. It also explores the controversy surrounding Hitler's Jewish ancestry. Overall, this graphic novel explores the stupidity and futility of hatred, racism, and vengeance. There is a rape scene depicted and some graphically violent pictures. An interesting way to learn and view history. Adolf: 1945 and All That Remains is the final volume in Osamu Tezuka's masterful Adolf graphic novel series. The entire work is amazing and the fifth volume is no exception. World War II is steadily coming to an end. Adolf Kaufmann has returned to Japan to discover that his mother has changed her citizenship from German back to Japanese. And even more, she has remarried to Toge, the man Adolf has been sent to track down. After the war, the state of Israel is created. Adolf Kamil moves there with his wife and becomes a respected fighter and commander. Adolf Kaufmann has also found his way to Israel, swearing to continue the fight against the Jews. Adolf is an exceptional series and is highly recommended. The following is a complete listing of the books in order. Adolf: A Tale of the Twentieth Century, Adolf: An Exile In Japan, Adolf: The Half-Aryan, Adolf: Days of Infamy, and Adolf: 1945 and All That Remains. This drama began on the eve of World War II with three men named Adolf. The fate of Adolf Hitler, the dictator of the evil Third Reich, we know, but Tezuka's series continued after the war, following the other two Adolfs -- one the son of a baker, a German Jew; the other the son of a gentile German diplomat.
