Excerpt from The American Geography: Or, a View of the Present Situation of the United States of AmericaThe earth is miles in circumference and by turning on its axis once in twenty-four hours from weft to call, caules a continual fuccefiion of day and night, according as either fide is turned to or from the fun and occafions an apparent motion of the fun and heavenly bodies from eal'c to well.
