"The Cameo Glass of Thomas and George Woodall by Christopher Woodall Perry, the great-great-grandson of George Woodall, documents the work of his ancestors. Chris Perry's research has spanned several years and taken him as far afield as Australia, resulting in a detailed record of the cameo glass produced by the Woodall's and a fascinating insight into the brothers' lives and times. In addition to archive material held by museums and universities, the author has been given access to the collections of sketch books, documents, letters and photographs owned by the many Woodall descendants. The book contains many hitherto unpublished pictures of pieces from family and private collections, and reproductions of George Woodall's own photographic negatives of cameo work. This is an illustrated volume containing a wealth of new material and information on nineteenth-century cameo glass, including an annotated copy of Thomas Webb's & Sons' Price Book which details the scope of work undertaken by the Woodall team, together with previously unpublished sketches from the Webb's Pattern Book."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc.
