This proved to be just too impenetrably Edwardian British for me. There's too much about cricket and the jargon of the period I don't understand. And it lacked the wit and sparkle of the Jeeves and Wooster stories. (But I don't think these were intended to be that sort of story, so I'm not really faulting it on that account.) Maybe I will return to this someday, but I'm doubtful that I'll do so. Life is too short to spend time reading books one doesn't enjoy. ( )
