Age: primary Genre: realistic fiction This book was a cute story about friendship and it shows kids how to be supportive of each other when they get something better than you. Rex gets the role in the play that Pinky wanted and this makes Pinky upset. The day before the play they make up and become friends again and they support each other. This would be a great book for kids to read as they are building their reading skills and if they are interested in acting. For intermediate readers. Pinky and Rex are two friends who try out for the school play. This story narrates a lot of the nervous thoughts and emotions they go through before the audition. This book incorporates more advanced language and dialogue that makes it seem like a more intermediate read. There are. more words per page, and less spacing between each line of words. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Early chapter book. Pinky and Rex audition for the school play, but Rex ends up getting the part that Pinky wants! Will he learn to forgive her?
I'd like to have this book in my classroom , and the other Pinky and Rex books too, because having series is very important. I also love the subverting of expectations - Pinky is the boy and Rex is the girl. There are some pictures to help out the story, but they are pretty small and most of it relies on the text.
