The Grizzlies are headed to the playoff and Manny Griffin cannot wait. Their first baseman is sidelined two days before the big game and it is up to Manny the catcher and his best friend Stu Fletcher the second baseman to train his replacement. All is going well until Stu gets hit by a wild throw right in the head! Stu makes Manny promise not to tell, but he is acting really strange and could have a concussion. Manny is torn between keeping a promise and letting Stu and the team down or break the promise and tell someone. I would recommend this for any collection owning other books by Matt Christopher or fans of sports titles. It does a good job of addressing real life issues that kids face and what should be done in a dangerous situation. ( )
