Didn't how to rate this book for there isn't much to rate. A book that's just 6 pages! Publishers claim it as a short story. Haven't read a short story this short! Mission Impossible of medieval times, starring Joan of Arc and Scathach. The bibliography states that the short story is based on Scott's best selling Nicholas Flamel series and I haven't read the series. May be mine is a classic example of cart going before the horse. (

I really enjoyed this series, but this pathetic attempt to wring money from readers ought to embarrass Michael Scott (or his publisher.) It adds nothing to the series or character development as you would expect from a 12-page e-book. Scathach singlehandedly rescues Joan of Arc from her execution. (

Ik had dit als Nederlandstalig e-book gekregen, maar ... het blijkt dat er helemaal geen Nederlandstalige uitgave van is. Gelukkig maar, wat als dit een echt vertaling was, dan moest de vertaler zijn schoolgeld direct terug gaan halen.

This was told from a soldier's perspective on the day of Joan d'Arc's assassination/execution. It was very abrupt, but does a pretty good job showcasing Scathach's badassery. Like the other accompaniment story (Billy the Kid and the Vampyres of Vegas) the titular character is only a mcguffin - Scathach is the focus. Fine by me, because she's my favorite character, but still kind of annoying. (
