Personal Reaction: I liked how he used different sounds of words, such as "tossels" for "tassels," "airly" for "early," which made the poem fun to read. I believe the poem would hold our children's interest and give us something to talk about when through reading the poem. Talked and showed farm life and the outdoors, which children would enjoy hearing and talking about. Pictures were very colorful and vivid.
Classroom Extension Ideas: This would be a good book to read during Autumn. We could go outside and see how things are changing, such as the leaves turning colors and falling from the trees. We could also talk about all the words that rhyme and think of others that rhyme as well. ( )
