Based upon an old Aboriginal tale, this book details the events that befall a group of individuals that find themselves trapped on a road through the Outback, unable to reach their destinations.

I found the main characters quite interesting and well developed. Writing quality was merely adequate. The story at times was quite suspenseful, but the ending was a bit of a letdown and rather predictable. I was drawn to this book for the supernatural element but was a little disappointed in that regard. ( )

Horror that would do Stephen King proud. Of the 16 characters in the book only 6 are left at the end. Think Barrow Creek and Wolf Creek - murders in the outback that awake an ancient curse that stops people from moving from the spot where the murders happened. A man attacks his ex-wife & their son & uncle at a remote house on the Silver City Highway to Broken Hill and a group of tourists, locals and truck drivers get caught on the same stretch driving and driving, getting nowhere, running out of petrol as the murderer who is also trapped gets closer and is pursued by the earth in the form of flies, dead crows, road kill, blood seeping up from the earth, etc. Absolutely brilliant – couldn’t put it down.p.72 – 76 Alec realizes he is going nowhere. (Need to take out the F words if read aloud!)
