Newly married Texas ranger, Andy Pickard is sent to central Texas to stop a series of murders and cattle rustling. His partner is the volatile Logan Daggett who has been known to shot first and ask questions later. When they arrive, they find two local cattle barons accusing one another of stealing one the other fellows doggies. Andy suspects someone else is causing the problems so the two barons take one another out.

There is a lot of action and a few twists and turns in the plot to keep the reader turning the pages. Strong women characters as well although they have a limited part in the story. ( )
