Format appropriate for high school and adult. multiple copies. Summary: This short sweet biography explains who the activist Martin Luther King Jr was. It explained where he lived as a child and where he raised his family. Most importantly the book described the morals he possesed as he fought for his dream as an adult. Personal Reaction: The story did a wonderful job portraying Dr. King as a hero. It made me proud to see a man I admire accurately portrayed. Classroom Extension Ideas: I. History research Dr. King and see how accurately we can retell his story as a class using timelines. II. Drama Pretend to be activist for various causes and try to persuade the class. Summary: The book described who Martin Luther King Jr was and what a brave man he was. It showed the courage that he had to stand up for what he believes in against all others. He was a very good man who was only standing up for what he knew was right, and was killed for such things. Personal Reaction: I really enjoyed this book. This book explains perfectly who Martin Luther King Jr was and what he did for his people. Classroom Extension Ideas: This book is wonderful for a Martin Luther King Jr week and the celebration for it. I think all children should know about this man and what he did. SUMMARY: A story about the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. and what he went through during the African American Civil Rights Movement. PERSONAL REACTION: It was a sad book to read and see what he went through. On the other hand, it was a good book to teach us about our history.
