Tess Livingston met Ian Ritter at a roadside stop high in the Andes, waiting for a bus to the mysterious town of Esperanza. Tess is an FBI agent who remembers being on the track of a group of international counterfeiters.nbsp; But she doesn’t remember booking a trip to Esperanza.nbsp;Ian is a journalist who was planning to vacation to the Galapagos Islands.nbsp; He, too, isn’t quite sure why he has a ticket to Esperanza.nbsp; Their meeting will change their lives forever.nbsp; For they have been brought together because they hold the key in a mystical war between the kind spirits of the dead who guard humanity, and the hungry ghosts who exist only to possess living human bodies, and return however briefly to life. In the midst of this war, Tess and Ian will find a love that can transcend time, and a cause that not even death will overcome. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

As for the story, the blurb on the back cover promised scary - however, that was a let down. By writing half the book from the perspective of the Brujas took away any element of surprise. Also, after it was shown a person doesn't always die after a posession (as apposed to bleeding out as shown in the first 25% of the story), it really took away the suspense.
As for the ending, well, it didn't make much sense from either side. Angry ghosts possessing someone (and dying if the host dies), seems like you should just leave when the fighting gets tough - as for the opossition, it seemed odd that they would be willing to take down the whole town, their family, friends, homes, etc, to get rid of a ghosts who can leave when things rough.
Either way, I stayed up to finish it. And it wasn't worth it.
But, the book is competently written. The premise is interesting. But I wasn't a fan of the unexpected new age stuff, as well as the commentary on diet and health. ( )
