Encounter at Easton is the sequel to Night Journeys, but is still followable even if you haven't read the 1st book. Elizabeth and Robert, the escaped American Indentured Servants, continue their journey for freedom, and things get dangerous. Mr. Nathaniel is after Elizabeth, and when Elizabeth gets very sick, can Robert save himself and Elizabeth, without getting themselves into too deep trouble? I liked this book because of the Never-Ceasing surprise and action. An example is the fact of the 2 deaths at the ending! I recommend this book to people who like surprises and can handle tough content. ( ) Encounter at Easton by Avi is a sequel to Night Journeys. Night Journeys gives valuable support information for Encounter at Easton but the story is still followable without reading that information. Two indentured servants have run away from their master and the master is searching for them. The story is told from four perspectives as given in depositions: the master, the hired bounty hunter, the sheriff, and the indentured boy. Encounter at Easton gives a clear look at several different areas of Colonial life including indentured servitude, bounty hunting, the attitude toward rape victims (the word rape is not used) and how those areas affected other areas of life. I would recommend this book to the following people I know: a 4th grade boy, a 4th grade girl who is interested in Colonial life, a teacher of 4-6th grade boys and girls for his classroom. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
