A good book for those who like to explore the forest! ( ) At first glance, I assumed this book would be purely poems - I was incorrect. This book not only is comprised of poems about creatures, but there are sections on each page that go into further detail and descriptions of the animals. These poems are able to allow students to engage with the habits of an animal and than further explore with the section that further describes the animal. This book is informative and engaging, as it is not only a comprehendible book there are captivating photos to keep the readers attention. This collection of poems was a 2011 Newberry honor book. I really enjoyed the illustrations that accompanied each poem, as I feel like they did a great job of bringing the poem to life for a young reader. The marvelous illustrations are also combined with interesting and engaging facts about the forest and forest life for the reader. I feel like the combination of well written poetry, along with the great illustrations and facts form a powerful combination that the reader will love and enjoy. It has the potential to not only spark their love of poetry, but also inspire their wonder and aww of the forest and the creatures that call the forest home. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
