Which is frustrating because I like the series that comes out of this book, Bodyguards in Love. I take it this whole Men in Love series is about polygamy which just isn't my thing. I don't have a problem with it, I just can't relate or understand it at all. But that's not why I didn't like this. The book tried to do too much, way too much. There were several important plot lines and none of them got resolved. The book ends suddenly and I don't even know where the or if the main plot line is ever finished. The whole thing didn't make much sense without having read the first books of the series. Reunion is very, very different then the Bodyguards in Love series. The sex is mostly ridiculous. There are a couple of sex scenes which are fine, but basically any time a couple even walks by each other they want to have sex and they usually do. The mini-sex scenes are pointless and not at all hot. They also use the word "pussy" a lot which I think is tacky and revolting. I did get something out of it, however, which is what I read the book for: the beginning of Brier and Jackie's story which is continued in Brier's Bargain. The love story is very sweet but there are ethical issues since Brier has developmental delays. I had some difficulties with this and wanted to find out more. Reunion helped me understand better and be more comfortable with it so I immediately read Bargain again and was much happier. This book is terrible, truly terrible. Carol Lynne gives us a reunion of the folks from her Men in Love series, and it was nice getting to "see" everyone again. The gang gathers together because a woman turns up claiming to be Gabe's long lost sister. Gabe has spent years in a fruitless search for the mother who abandoned him. As usual, everyone bands together to get to the bottom of things, and we get a nice picture of these men and women ten years after the rest of the series.I was surprised to see Lynne work in a story for Bram's brother Brier. It was good to see how she's letting that character grow.My only complaint is that the main conflict really isn't resolved. Rather, Lynne lets us know that there will be another book.A side note: I just don't see how five people can actually sleep in the same bed every night. I guess I'm just too much of a bed-hog to understand that one. ;) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
