I got this book because the section on the B-17 bomber featured pictures of the Collings Foundation airplane "Nine-o-Nine". This plane came to Tallahassee 3 years ago and I took a 30-minute flight in it. This is the plane that crashed in Hartford a year ago, killing several people. SEE ALSO: Thunder in the Heavens. Airplane aficionados and nostalgia buffs will enjoy this magnificent full-color history of aircraft such as Avro's outstanding Lancaster bomber and Vought's deadly F-4U Corsair. Excellent photos and moving quotes from pilots about their experiences and their love for the planes. Although thousands of aircraft were produced during World War II, only a handful remain. This is a tribute to 24 bombers and fighter planes built in the U.S., Britain and Germany during that time. These beautifully preserved aircraft rekindle the memories of air battles won and lost with over 150 full-color photographs. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
