There are many things I like about this author's style of writing. I like how she immediately begins her stories with a dramatic fast-paced scene that immediately catches my attention. I like how she develops her characters. The ladies have a mind of their own and can take care of themselves, but they also know their God-given place as a wife and mother. There is humor, romance, lightheartedness and tragedy all rolled into a story that keeps me captivated from beginning to end.

This book is the second story in "Sophie's Daughters" series. I really liked it (but I liked book one, "Doctor in Petticoats", just a teenier, tiny bit more). In this story "tough Texan tomboy Sally McClellan heads to Montana to visit her pregnant sister Mandy. But when her traveling party is attacked, Sally is left for dead". Logan McKenzie, an artist who lives in the Rockies, discovers Sally and takes her home in the hopes that his Shoshone housekeeper can keep her alive. There is constant danger in the air though as the outlaws discover she is still alive and want her silenced.

Can a tough tomboy cowgirl see the sense in a man who draws and paints for a living? And can the artist help the cowgirl to see the beauty and worth in what he is doing. Can these two mismatched people accept each other for who they are and live a happy life? It was fun watching Sally learn to love this man.

I so enjoyed the fact that Mary Connealy brought in people from her other series into this series. It was like meeting up with people again that I really enjoyed and finding out how they were doing. I would advice you to read this series in the order they were written as it helps you get to know all the characters better and because you won't be disappointed in any of the stories. Saddle up, sit back and get ready for a great adventure! I am anxious to begin the next book in this series, "Sharpshooter in Petticoats". ( )

Sally is the younger sister of both Beth and Mandy. She is the tomboy of the three. She loves to ride beside her dad and wear man’s cloths when she rides etc. The book opens with her being escorted ,riding with a big group heading to Montana to help her sister Mandy out since she is close to having a baby. An unfortunate situation takes place as they are traveling and it leaves Sally badly injured. She is found by Logan and he takes her back to his cabin to heal. Will these two total opposites find love? Will Sally make it to her sister in time for the baby? Read to find out! After reading the first book Doctor in Petticoats I could not wait to read this book. I admit to being slightly disappointed. I did enjoy it very much but I found the story to be boring(to me) just a little. Logan is artist and the author spends a lot of time talking about paintings and art and I found it hard to follow and found myself skimming over it at times. I also felt Sally was really not a great fit for the guy and to me they just never meshed. But it was well written and I found the description of Yellowstone easy to see in my head and made me wish I was there with the characters. I also enjoyed the suspense of the book relative to Sally being sought after due to what happened to cause her injuries. Also in this book we also are still following the story of Mandy and I found myself just wanting to get through this book so I could read the ending to her story. Over all I give it high marks and recommend if your reading the series to not skip this book because you would miss a lot and that would make the 3rd book a little harder to get into.DISCLOSURE: I was provided a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through NetGalley to review it. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own. ( )

How can anyone possibly go wrong with reading Mary Connealy books? It would be baffling to think that someone WOULDN'T like her amazing, funny, sweet and lovable books! From the laughter, to sweet cowboys, to a touch of suspense in each one, her books are GLOURIOUSLY WOWmazing. And, each new addition to her series collections seem to get better and better with each one.

I loved the characters in this book even more than the ones in Doctors in Petticoats (though we saw Sarah in that one as well,as a secondary character). Sweet Sarah's character instantly worked her way into my heart and became like a sister to me. Her steadfast faith in God, even in a time of terrible circumstances, was amazing and was a shining point in this book. Her easy going, wrangling nature was easy to love, even while she was injured after the terrible attack. The only downside to Sarah is, that she doesn't have a lot of womanly ways about her....she's too busy trying to be rough and tough on the outside to please her pa so he'll still love her, while on the inside...well, on the inside, she simply wants to wear some frills.

So, what happens when Sarah meets warm-hearted, God-fearing Logan, who's come to her rescue? Now that Logan....whewee! THAT is one awesome cowboy who I'd like to come to my rescue...not that I need rescuing or anything. Just saying. Mary really knows how to create them God loving, ruggedly gorgeous looking family men. His tenderness and love for God out did some of the other characters in this book. In a good way, of course.

So, once more, I sing the highest of 5 star praises for this funny, charming God filled addition to Sophie's Daughters. With just a touch of mystery to give it twists, Connealy's cowboys, laughter and Western country are the perfect themes to her perfect books and meant for every book lover's shelves! I can't WAIT to read Sharpshooter in Petticoats, book 3 in this laugh out loud series. ( )

I am not sure why I seem surprised. Reading a story from romantic comedian Christian Historical Fiction author Mary Connealy always sends me through a whirl of emotions. Wrangler in Petticoats is another one in a long line of entertaining reads with big messages. Through the pages a reader will be taken into a romance that is full of blushes and shy grins, but also giggles and plain out chuckles. Yet you also get deep conversations on topics of discussion like marriage, family, and true love. That’s what this book is about.

Marriage, good ones and bad ones. Marriage for love and marriage for convenience. Family that means nothing and family that means life as well as family that just happens to exist. Then love. Love on the offsets of a lie, love that thrives in truth and love that is hidden because of propriety or situation. It is always a journey with Mary and of course I look forward to more.

I love what she is currently doing. For those that are new… Wrangler in Petticoats is the second book in the Sophie’s Daughter’s Series, but Sophie is a character from the Lassoed in Texas Trilogy. Yet, there are also characters brought over from the Montana Marriages Trilogy. So… in essence, Sophie’s Daughters Series is a continuation of all of thee above!

WRANGLER IN PETTICOATS by Mary Connealy is an amazing inspirational historical romance set in 1882 Montana territory. It is the second in the Sophie's Daughter's series but can be read as a stand alone. It is well written with details and depth. It has romance, intrigue, faith, love, mayhem, murder, treachery, humor, sacrifice, finding ones true love, ones self and inner peace. The hero, Logan, is a painter, strong, handsome, a loner, and true to his self. The heroine, Sally, is strong willed, tough, brave, a crack shot with a rifle and determined. While Sally and group of her friends are headed to Montana territory to visit with Sally's sister, Mandy, they are attacked by three back shooter outlaws. Sally is the only one to survive. The outlaws think she is dead. They also don't know she is female, because she is dressed as a male. Sally has fallen several feet down a crevice, been shot and is found by Logan, the painter. Logan takes her to his mountain cabin, so his Indian healer/housekeeper can help her. In the process, Logan is fascinated with Sally, her bravery, sense of humor, her need to survive and determined nature. Sally, is fascinated with Logan also, his sense of beauty, his love of nature and painting, his protection of her and his determination to marry her. They fall in love and will figure out how to live together with his love of painting and her love of the land. This is a wonderful story of love, trust, faith and the coming together of two worlds. You will also see characters from the first in Sophie's Daughters, Mandy, Luther, Buff, Tom, and Mandy's husband. If you enjoy sweet romance, love, the old west, and triumph you will enjoy this one. I would highly recommend this book. I enjoy all of this author's books. This book was received for review from Net Galley and details can be found at Barbour Publishing and My Book Addiction and More. ( )
