I did not figure out who the murderer was until it was revealed. I did not care for Sam much at all. She had too many issues and made MANY bad decisions in her personal and work life. Nick was the saving grace being a great love interest. He was all in while Sam was too aloof! It's not so enjoyable when you are wishing the one character would just dump the love interest character. The whole Peter situation seemed out of place like it was filler material to stretch out the book. ( ) This is the first book in the Fatal series, and my first ever Marie Force book. I didn't own the entire series when I started this book, but quickly made the decision that I needed to get the ones that were missing from my collection. This was a great start to the series with likeable characters and an interesting plot. I don't pay any attention to politics and any books that I come across having anything to do with politics I quickly get rid of. This, however, was not so political that it was throwing all this Republican vs Democrat stuff in your face. Although set in Washington, DC and about the murder of a Senator (along with various other politicos being in the mix) it wasn't ABOUT politics so it didn't really seem political. Sam and Nick are a little to good to be true, even for a romance book, but it wasn't so off-putting that it detracted from the story. I mean, they would argue about something that would make a normal couple break up, and with one look or touch everything was completely forgotten, like it never even happened. That doesn't happen in real life. My only "complaint" (if you can call it that) is that there was more sex than I'm used to in the other suspenseful romance books that I usually read. Not to say that it's a bad thing, and if that's what you like, then you're in for a treat. All in all, a great book, I read the entire thing in just a few days. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. If you like suspense, romance, twists, turns, and a strong female protagonist, then definitely give this series a read. I would recommend this for fans of Christina Dodd or Karin Slaughter. Fatal Affair is the first book in the Fatal Series. In this book, Senator John O'Connor's murder puts Detective Sam Holland in contact with the man that she had slept with for one night six years before but has never forgotten. Nick Cappuano has been working as chief of staff for Senator O'Connor and discovers his body in the Senator's apartment. In the six years since their night together, Sam has been married and divorced, and her father has been shot and left a paraplegic. Sam has also recently come off of leave she had taken due to a controversial order she gave that left a teenager dead and a mother blaming Sam for his death. Sam and Nick must deal with all of these things as they plow through the evidence and suspects in the Senator's death. This story has lots of details, suspects, and obstacles that the lead characters must work through. The story is so jam-packed that it is difficult to keep all of it straight. Even with all of the clutter, the ending is a satisfying one, making this an overall good story. I look forward to reading the next book in the series, Fatal Justice. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML:Washington, D.C., Metro Police Detective Sergeant Sam Holland needs a big win to salvage her careerâ??and her confidenceâ??after a disastrous investigation. The perfect opportunity arises when Senator John O'Connor is found brutally murdered in his bed, and Sam is assigned to the case. Matters get complicated when Sam has to team up with Nick Cappuano, O'Connor's friend and chief of staff...and the man Sam had a memorable one-night stand with years earlier. Their sexual chemistry still sizzles, and Sam has to fight to stay focused on the case. Sleeping with a material witness is another mistake she can't affordâ??especially when the bodies keep piling up. Book 1 of the Fatal Series. 97,0 No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
