- Monmouth Road is Route 537, - while Rt 537 is in Monmouth County that is. The 'Book Garden' is located about 10 minutes West of Great Adventure Amusement Park on Rt 537. A rather large bookstore for central New Jersey which claims to have 50,000 books on premises. The 'Book Garden' consists of a small florist in the front and a large warehouse of books in the back. There are little nooks and also high shelves so dress to climb ladders and squat. I believe most of the books come from estate sales and also locals bringing them in.

Wonderful selection. Boyfriend and I went there this year and I instantly gravitated towards the wall of nothing but old books. Got a lot for a good deal! Will definitely go back, maybe next fall.

There is usually an anniversary sale in August. Unfortunately I think I missed it for this year!
