This national park preserves the site of a decisive battle between Creek Indians and U.S. military forces in 1814. The Visitor Center houses a small bookstore devoted to the history of the Creek War and the Creek Indian people.

The center also houses a museum and vending machines for snacks and drinks. The park includes gently rolling land, some of it wooded, within an oxbow formed by the Tallapoosa River. Interpretive signs are placed throughout. Special events bring historians, tribal members, and reenactors.
