The British Bookshop opened in 1974, having started as a reading room of the British Embassy after the Second World War. In 1994, the shop moved to its final location on Weihburggasse. In 1998, The British Bookshop was acquired by Prachner booksellers. Both The British Bookshop and Prachner were declared insolvent in 2008.

They are open again, and new stock is arriving. There are more books there every time I drop in.
