RLD Books

some lovely stock here, especially the children's literature section. my wife nearly wept in gratitude to find the "book house" series she loved so much as a child. contrary to the comment below, the woman we were met by was nothing but lovely and helpful, although i must admit the fact there was a 50% sale on all stock for the new year helped us find some serious goodies to take back to the UK. if you do visit, look in the back for the $250 dore book which is one of the most gorgeous things i have ever seen...

I was "greeted" by what I assume was the owner, who was exceedingly rude, telling me that the used paperback store would have something more suitable to my tastes, because his customers liked something with a better binding, and he could "tell" I preferred paperbacks. I assume this was because it was a cold day and I was in sweats, rather than a suit and tie. All his books were hardbacks and very high priced. Books that are available on ebay or in any decent used book store for 1 or 2 dollars started at $25! I'd never go there again.
