Descripción:
The John Trigg Ester Library is a small membership library in Ester, Alaska. It has about 7,000 volumes (we haven't catalogued them all yet). A new building designed to nearly net-zero energy, PassivHaus and LEED standards will be constructed nearby, on Village Road, with a gazebo and gardens. The library holds several major community events each year including the LiBerry Music Festival and Readers on the Run. During the winter months the library hosts a lecture series ranging in subjects from history to poetry to art to travel and more. It is governed by a 9-member board of directors. The JTEL was founded in 1999; its collections are almost exclusively the result of donations from local residents.
