October to December nominations

October is upon us and i thought i'd kick off the nominations for our next two potential reads. And so:

Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad

I'll also second Tender is the Night. I've read Heart of Darkness way too many times the last few years to go for that.

I second The Manuscript found in Saragossa and nominate The Golden Bowl by Henry James and Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen.

Oh-boy I missed the voting by one day!
But... this marvelous group selected two books that I wish to read. Good job to all that nominated and voted!!
I have just finished Madame Bovary and will be posting my thoughts today. I like scarper(#14) - have Heart of Darkness and will have to order Conversation in the Cathedral. So I will place a vote for us to start with Conrad's book too.

Has the book after Heart of Darkness been chosen and if so, when does the discussion begin?
