"The Rose and the Beast"

Just picked up The Rose and the Beast by Francesca Lia Block. It looks to have nine retellings of fairy tales. I'm a huge fan of Block's Weetzie Bat books, so I'm looking forward to her take on classic tales.

One of my favorite books, very dark, very poetic. Hope you enjoy it!

After you read that one try Psyche In A Dress, if you have not already. Interesting modern retelling of the story of Psyche, dealing with abuse and mother daughter relationships, along with breaking the cycle of said abuse.

Thanks, Aridy, I've not read that one yet. I did recently read The Waters and the Wild (touchstone is not coming up for Block), a changeling story, which I enjoyed.
