Has anyone read any of them, e.g. Sit Down and Shut Up?
They look interesting, but I'm not sure they'd be my cup of (carefully and mindfully poured) tea. If you've read one or more, what do you think? Would you recommend it them}?

I very highly recommend Hardcore Zen and Sit Down and Shut Up precisely because they get to the heart of Zen practice while eschewing a lot of the fluffy New Age-y platitudes that plague a lot of (pop) Buddhist writing.
I'm much more ambivalent about his third book (Zen Wrapped in Karma Dipped in Chocolate) for reasons discussed here, and am only about a third of the way through his latest, so no opinions there yet. I too would be happy to discuss them with anyone else who's read them.
