I have the 8 hard back works of Augusta Evans Wilson. The books are covered in a dark green cloth like material. There are copyright dates, but I don't think those are the dates of when the book set was made. There is nothing in the books that say anything about "first editions", but I'm sure they're not first editions, because these books came out as a set.

The inside of my St Elmo book in the set, looks like this one: http://books.google.com/books?id=z3EPAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA5&lpg=PA5&dq=co-o...

That's a long url. Eeeps. Hope it works.

So, does anyone know when the set came out?

The WorldCat record suggests c. 1896-1903 (and that looks just about right to me).

I'd love it if they were that old. The copyrights have those dates. Though, the set must've been made all at once, and not every other year, like the dates suggest. It's just that I've discovered that sometimes publishers reprint books and include the original copyright date, but don't put the date the books were actually reprinted.

At least, these books were printed before the 70s .. there's no ISBN number.

I want to guess the 30s, because it has the look and feel of my other 1930s books ... but I'm just not sure.

Without seeing them it's difficult to say, but no library record for them uses anything other than the bracketed dates (the example you link to in GB has a copyright date of 1866, while these are clearly rather later than that).
